Biographical Information
Dan and Joanna Burnet came to Australia from Scotland in 1991 where they had been running a busy Host Farm at Portinnisherrich on Loch Aweside in Argyll. Prior to that Dan had had a full career as a British Army Officer and has served in Cyprus, Kenya, Kuwait, the USA, Germany and Sweden as well as many times in the UK. Joanna worked in travel and tourism in various parts of Europe. They founded Visitoz in early 1992 and young people come from all over the world to take part in the training activities for work on Outback cattle stations and farms. The Burnets are also concentrating on the olive groves, the farm and their community interests. Both became Australian citizens in 1994 and JPs two years later. Dan and Joanna have four sons, three of whom live and work in the UK and the youngest Ed lives with his wife Malin (from Sweden) and baby Hugo, in another house on the property. Dan and Joanna have seven grand children. Richard and Jill have three sons, Freddie, Harry and George.
